End of year show

Ayla had her big performance tonight, the end of the school year dance recital. We braved the streets of Napoli (while she slept) to get her there. She had three numbers with her class. Her class was the highlight because all the camcorders and smart-video-phones came out when the little ones were on. The first number may as well have been called "Tears of a Clown" because all the girls were in clown costumes, but Ayla balked again like she did in the Christmas show and just stood with her arms crossed and cried in the back row no matter what the rest of the class was doing on stage. Heartbreaking really. Ari tried to console her during intermission but wasn't able to get backstage.
The next number had her in a nightgown and it was a lullaby theme song where she passed a toy back and forth with her partner, another English speaking friend named Jordan. They helped each other through the number.
The last number was "Rock-n-roll Robot" and you can see her costume below. She had shown us her robot moves over the past couple days. She wasn't always in sync, but not many were, and she was enthusiastic throughout. Of the ten or so numbers, this one stole the show. Afterwards she got a bouquet and we all went out for gelato with Jordan's family. Another school year in the books for our precious UFO.
